Hi guys, I recently found out that I had a lot of albums on a server, and wanted to get a gallery up and running again. beeen a long time since i have been doing this. here is the thread i started: I have a problem with some albums now; A lot of blank albums are showing up with no images in them, but I am sure the images are supposed to be there. Here are the errors I am getting; (highlight) Warning: stat() [function.stat]: stat failed for /home/piexnet/public_html/a/albums//album.dat in /home/piexnet/public_html/gallery-1.5.9/platform/fs_unix.php on line 145 any idea? |

Let me make sure I understand what you are doing... You installed or reinstalled the program Gallery 1.5.9 on a web hosting server and then you took your old photo albums and tried to get them to work with the program. If this is the case let me know and I can tell you what I did to get my Gallery to work.

Yes thats what I did. Most of the galleries are showing up, but not all.

Ok,,, Here is actually how I did my install. first I uploaded all the Gallery files to my main Root (Public_Html) into a folder I made called gallery. Once I did that I made a folder called tmp and put the permissions at 777 I also made a folder called "netpbm" with permissions at 755. This folder will have you netpbm binary files in it once you upload them later. I then took my albums folder and uploaded it to the Gallery folder on the server (if your photo albums are not in a folder called "albums" then make one and put all your individual albums in it) make sure you give this folder 777 permissions.
I would then go a head and download from the Gallery website all the netpbm binary files and then upload them to you netpbm folder but make sure you do this in a binary transfer. After that then go through the Gallery Config wizard and set everything up as needed.
By the way once you get everything going you may have a thumbnail issue for new photo albums you add later.... Just FYI

Have not yet. I have a post out there asking for help with it. dont know why there is an issue. Now with that said, you may or may not have this issue.

Hi,
I can not really follow you guys ;-)
As you can see, there is a double / which indicates that the album name is missing.
First i like you to this:
- Rename or move your albumsdb.dat file.
This file is only for caching and will be rebuild.
After that, please log in as admin and go to the admin area.
- Find orphans
- Validate albums

Ok, followed yuor steps. I deleted all the orphans.
When I tried to validate the albums i got this message; Missing files: 657
Does this mean that there are 657 pictures missing at my server?
