Hi!

I recently ran across the publish to web option for windows XP users. Great Job! I have only one suggestion for it. When creating the reg key for the Gallery Item and the description of this Item how about making it specific to the site that it is on.

Let me explain I have SITE_A SITE_B SITE_C etc. the way the current publish to web reg key gets generated it only creates a Gallery entry in the registry and sets description to Gallery as well. Instead if the key could be name GALLERYSITE_A and description to SITE_A Gallery. It would users to just down load the registry key for multiple gallery sites and publish to multiple sites from the publish to web feature.

Thanks

Did you actually try this before suggesting this feature?

I'm running multiple Galleries, and I can publish to multiple Galleries with Windows XP Publisher. So this is already the case.

Thanks

How do I remove a Gallery upload option?

i.e. When I go to Publish w/ XP, I have a choice to upload to a Gallery that doesn't exist anymore.

You will need to do some registry hacking, so be carefull.

You need to edit:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\PublishingWizard\PublishingWizard\Providers\ and delete the entry for the non existant gallery.

BorgKing,

Are you running multiple gallerys with one installation of Gallery? How do you configure that?

Or do you have duplicate installations?

I have duplicate installations, mostly on different webservers (or for different accounts anyway). But I also use multiple Galleries on the same account, one for production, one for testing. As long as every Gallery is in it's own subfolder everything's fine.

SOLVED:
sorry - I uninstalled the plugin, deleted the registry entry and started over. I must have accidentally clicked on an old registry patch I had downloaded (but never used) which was supposed to work with G1.
It works fine now!!!
------------------------
I'm using g2 and installed the registry patch to use winxp publish which worked but it published my pics to my old g1 installation which is in my website/public/gallery directory. g2 is in my website/public/gallery2 directory.
I looked at the registry entry and it does indeed point to website/public/gallery so I changed it to website/public/gallery2 (and left the /publish_xp.php?cmd=publish as is) but now the xp publishing wizard tells me it can't connect or that the directory doesn't exist. I've double-checked the path - it's correct - I only changed "gallery" to "gallery2" which is the correct directory for my g2 installation.
