A robot that I WANT to crawl my site is being blocked - why?

I am not sure if this is a wordpress issue, a gallery2 issue, or the WPG2 plugin for wordpress issue, but here goes!

I have a wordpress blog, and am using WPG2 to show images from G2 on my blog.
I am a member of an artist's website that every night crawls my blog to pull down the latest image for inclusion on their website. But they are getting some kind "security error" which is preventing their robot to do its thing.

I have checked my WP blog settings and it is set to allow all, incl robots.
I don't see any specific security settings in G2 that controls this though.

What do I need to do to get this to work? thanks!

Can you find out more about the 'security' error? Certain admin-type pages are marked as private to prevent them being cached,but that doesn't apply to photo or album pages and shouldn't affect you. There are no bot-specific settings in Gallery, as far as I know.
