Can't complete Configuration Wizard after 1.5.8 upgrade

I upgraded my gallery to 1.5.8, and can't finish Configuration Wizard. I've tried many options based on forum's suggestions, no avail.

If I clear the config file, I get to Step 4 of Config Wizard, and get a page with 80 errors that forces me to go to the beginning and then cycle repeats..

I compiled the config file based on another gallery I have (provided correct albumDir, movieThumbnail, etc. paths). In this case, I only get to "Configuration Wizard: Step 1" page, and after I click on "Next Steps" button, I get back to login page again and the process repeats itself.

At least I can see the albums now, after I manually changed rewrite to 0:
$gallery->app->feature["rewrite"] = 0;

PHP sessions are working properly since pictures are being displayed.
