Strings in the notificatin module

Hi,

As for several older modules, the notification module creates sentences on the fly. One example is "The %s %s has been activated".
Such constructions must be avoided since they are not transtable into languages where there are several genders for nouns. French is one of them.

Can someone modify the plugin so that uses preexisting sentences and does not try to create new ones?
