imagemagick on solaris 10

I'm having difficulties installing gallery 1.5.8 on solaris 10.
I have successfully placed imagemagick in a directory. I've pointed gallery towards that directory. Gallery finds the binaries and can use them.

The problem I have is that when executing convert, the system can not find the shared library in the included lib folder needed to work. I've tried putting that folder in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH, but that only works for me as user, not for the webserver which is run under another user with other variables. I've got no root access to this machine.

Can anyone come up with a clever solution?
