picture upload in new installed version 1-3-1 not possible

hello all

after installing version 1.3.1 on a postnuke 714 I run in some troubles with the
first picture-upload! Do you have any clue!?

I run gallery 1.3.1 without any plugins or addons! Did i miss something in the configuratiion or do i just miss something else!? every time - when i try to upload
a picture i get a error - invalid image This error message returns after every trial !!

i tried it with several images and several files and several formats - erverytime i get the return : i get a error - invalid image

any clue
every help will be greatly appreciated

I got this error when I tried to use Jpeg, and it refused. Then I tried Gif and it worked. Going through the FAQ on Gallery I realised it was my "jhead" not working completely and I just changed the name of the directory to an easier one and it ran. Maybe you're facing something similar to this? Well hope it works for you.
