url rewrite for recent comments page?

Hi, is there a way in the standard config to set a url rewrite for the url http://www.whatsthatpicture.com/?q=gallery&g2_view=comment.ShowAllComments to something like http://www.whatsthatpicture.com/gallery/comments ? I am running the carbon theme, albeit presentationally somewhat modified.

Or do I have to go dipping into the .htaccess file (something I'm not too confident about, unless someone could give me specific instructions!)
