stray html tags included in comments and other text fields

Hi

I have an issue with stray <br> tags being inserted in image text fields (e.g. see http://www.whatsthatpicture.com/?q=gallery&g2_itemId=3131) and in comments (see http://www.whatsthatpicture.com/?q=gallery&g2_view=comment.ShowAllComments)

I am using TinyMCE so I don't know if it's related to that? My embedded markup in General Settings is set to BBCode, which is the only place I can find any settings that might relate to choosing input formats. Beyond that, do I need to look at settings anywhere embedded in teh TinyMCE code?

I know I'm long overdue an upgrade, but I have done some customisation and haven't plucked up the courage nor set aside the time yet......
