Exporting photo descriptions, captions, etc. (how to?)

I would like to make a backup of just the photo descriptions and captions for photographs that I've done this for. My gallery2 install has been corrupt (it was great for 2 years! I still love it!) and now I can't access plugins, among other problems. The site still works fine, but I can't do much administration.

Anyways, before I went off on that tangent, my question is this:

How can I backup, save my photo descriptions, photo titles, etc. so that I don't have to do retype this all again (if I could even remember). I know I can backup the g2data folder, but I am worried about the corrupt files being in there, such as the problem with not being able to access the plugins page when I'm in Site Administration.
