Hey guys,
Anyone using G2.2+ and successfully have Google indexing your images for their IMAGE SEARCH? It has been 5 months now and Google has yet to index a single image from my gallery. As far as I know, I've done all I can and followed the SEO tips in this forum, including URL REWRITE. All my other pages are indexed with the exception of my photos.
So, DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE GOOGLE SUCCESSFULLY INDEXING YOUR IMAGES IN THE GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH?
I'd like to see some proof. I see posts in this forum from people having the same problem.
Thanks...

Interesting, I'm noticing that my pages that don't have an JPG or image extension appended to the end of the URL ARE getting indexed compared to the ones WITH the JPG or image extension. So if you have a gallery page with ".jpg" at the end of the URL then it seems to be more difficult to get indexed. Can't confirm yet.

I have the same question. I have a site with over 5,000 images which has been running G2.2 for 6 months. I've followed all of the SEO tips including URL rewrite.
My pages seem to get indexed just fine in normal google searches. However doing image searches comes up with nothing, even if I specify my site in the query.
I recently submitted a sitemap generated by the google sitemap module, but it's too soon to tell if that has improved the situation.
Is there anything else that can/should be done to get the images indexed in the google image search?

I've made the exact same observation. My Gallery photo pages show up in the text search of http://www.google.com/ but none of my photos show up in http://images.google.com/.
My sitemap module has been active for over a year and and according to my Google webmaster tools my site and the sitemap gets regulary read and indexed.
I would like to hear from anyone whose Gallery photos show up in http://images.google.com/. To find out, go to http://images.google.com/ and type in site:yoursite.com

Some of mine show up - mostly album hilight thumbnails, probably because those are the only ones with any meaningful text to index by.
