Layout Modification

The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version: 1.5-RC2
Apache version: ...
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): v4.4.7
Graphics Toolkit: ...
Operating system: windows
Web browser/version (if applicable): firefox

Hi

i want to do 2 modifications to my gallery homepage,
1) set the overall width (i dont want it to span across the entire page, only 70% or so)
2) adjust the layout, see below

i want to change this layout

how would i do this? what files do i edit?

Hello,

First i want to say, that your version is outdated, not fully PHP5 compatible and has security issues.

1.)
Gallery 1.5.x is wrapped into a table. You can change the width in the file 'gallery.header(.default)' in the html_wrap folder.

2.)
Thats not possible in your version.
Gallery 1.6 will have this feature.

Is there a way to upgrade to the newest version? Or is v1.6 still in alpha and not released yet?

Yes, 1.6 is still in alpha (next alpha4 will come this weekend).

will i be able to upgrade once v1.6 is released? how will i do that?

Yes, you will.
The upgrade is the same as always with Gallery 1 :-)

But the changes are really big this time, so that e.g. skin changes, layout changes or any other optical changes are gone after the upgrade.
I touched nearly every codeline ;-)

I got some layout problems.
i had this "gold Frame" around albums and picture (in fullsize) but i changed this to dots
or something other, i changed it many times, but this gold frames remain. how can i change this? on which tab on which page?!

i have PHP v5.2.0-8+etch11 is OK.
This version of Gallery was released on 11/13/06

"check version" does not give any output.

FAQ: I changed a value on Step 3 of the configuration wizard (or in config.php), but the change isn't taking effect. What's going on?
