Theme Slider - Editing theme

Hi im pretty new to using Gallery so just after some help with this. I think i'm posting this in the right forum if not I guess it will be move. Anyway.

So im using JSAS (Joomla Stand Alone Server) to host Gallery 2.2.4 on my laptop since I don't want to pay for hosting until its finished.

Ive installed V2 Full so its got all the features but I want to change the Slider theme more to my liking. This is what im going for:

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction todo this. I have decent knowledge of HTML,XHTML,CSS and a few other random langs. Not so good with PHP and mySQL though.
