I am a novice to configuring stuff on a server, so please bear with me. Problem URL: http://wknit.net/gallery (add image) I have successfully setup all the items in the documentation, the gallery comes up and I can access all parts of it. However when I try to upload an image I get the following error message: I have read the FAQ and tried a different netpbm library, although at this point I am confused as to which binary library I should be using. Is the freebsd version the correct one to use given my OS and Apache version? I have made sure that the netpbm files are executable. Please help! Other areas of the FAQ like section 4.4 is pretty cryptic to me, without SSH I am not sure that I could delve my way through that article. |

I guess no one can help or wants too? Darn, and this looked like the app I needed too!

Remain calm! :smile: It takes us a little while to answer every question. Especially on weekends.
What extra information do you get when you turn debugging mode on (via the config wizard)?
I don't know what binaries you need... Try the "NetPBM" diagnostics page (accessible via the config wizard) -- it'll tell you what operating system you're on.

Sorry about the impatience (my wife says I spend too much time on this) :roll:
I ran the diagnostics you indicated and here are the results...
From check_netpbm:
System = Linux kaos.vosn.net 2.4.18 #1 SMP Fri Jun 14 14:40:04 MDT 2002 i686 unknown
Binary Report = Checking /netpbm/giftopnm
Error! (Expected status: 0, but actually received status: 255)
Same result for all the other binaries as well
From NetCraft:
System = Apache/1.3.26 (Unix) mod_log_bytes/0.3 mod_bwlimited/1.0 PHP/4.2.2 FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.9 OpenSSL/0.9.6b on Linux
From Debug Mode:
Processing status...
- Adding eye.gif
Executing:
/netpbm/giftopnm /albums/album01/eye.gif | /netpbm/pnmfile --allimages
Results: none
Error messages:
Status: 255 (expected 0)
Still more info from phpinfo.php:
System Linux kaos.vosn.net 2.4.18 #1 SMP Fri Jun 14 14:40:04 MDT 2002 i686 unknown
Build Date Aug 10 2002 01:24:33

Virtual Directory Support disabled
Configuration File (php.ini) Path /usr/local/lib/php.ini
Debug Build no

All files were found, paths are correct, failure upon execution. I currently have the FreeBSD library installed and have also tried the Linux/RedHat library as well. I also change the expected "Status" to 255 and continued with the same errors.

Well, it's telling you your system is Linux, so freebsd binaries aren't going
to work. You need Linux ones. Install those binaries, and see what happens
when you turn debug mode on.

Okay, I'd like to say how stupid I am first off... I'm stupid!
Secondly, I'd like to thank you folks for your help and patience. For the sake of "just knowledge"... I'll describe my blunder for those who may experince the same thing.
Originally, before I posted here, I tried the Linux/Redhat library with no success... it IS the correct one. My blunder was using DreamWeaver to "put" the files. I downloaded the libraries, used WinZip to decompress the archive and uploaded with DreamWeaver. When I re-uploaded the files using the Win (DOS mode) FTP and switched to "binary", all went well.
Again, thanks folks.

Bilbo, please start a new topic for your issue. I think it's unrelated to wknit's. Also, please turn on debug mode via the config wizard and then as part of your new topic, post the debug output from adding a new photo.
