Is it better to have the gallery in your website or a link to it ?

Hi,
I want to do a photo gallery for my website . I want to be able to add pictures and comments to it on an on going basis .This year I will be telling my customers to send in pictures that they have taken on the boat tour and I'll add then to the gallery. At present all my changes are done by my webmaster and I would like to be able to add pictures without sending the pics to them and getting them to put them on. There is also the space thing because the more pages I have the more the hosting fee.Any advice would be appreciated.
