Hi all

I am getting the cannot locate embed.php error message.

My setup:

gallery.mydomain.com <--- root is the gallery2 root
blog.mydomain.com <--- root is the wordpress 2.3 root

When I ftp I see :-

blog
----htdocs <--- wordpress root
gallery
-------htdocs <--- gallery2 root
htdocs <--- main site root (not tied to gallery or blog)

My confirmed path to the embed.php file (using putty and root access to the server) is

/var/www/virtual/mydomain.com/gallery/htdocs/embed.php

It doesn't matter what I do, the plugin refuses to find the embed.php file

I am have PHP4 installed

Any help would be much appreciated

Many thanks

Dave

Hiya Dave,

Sounds like you will need to help WPG2 find the required paths. Please have a read of this.

Hi

Thanks, but I followed that before posting.

Based on the information I posted earlier - My real WPG2 Paths are :-

Gallery2 URL: http://gallery.laughingwolf.co.uk
URL to WPG2 Output: http://blog.laughingwolf.co.uk/index.php/wpg2/
Gallery2 File Path: /var/www/virtual/laughingwolf.co.uk/gallery/htdocs/

I can confirm beyond all doubt that embed.php is sat in the Gallery2 File Path

Information from Gallery2 installation:

Gallery version = 2.2.4 core 1.2.0.6
PHP version = 4.3.10-16 apache2handler
Webserver = Apache/2.0.54 (Debian GNU/Linux) PHP/4.3.10-16 mod_ssl/2.0.54 OpenSSL/0.9.7e
Database = mysqlt 4.1.11-Debian_4sarge7-log, lock.system=database
Toolkits = ArchiveUpload, Exif, Getid3, LinkItemToolkit, Thumbnail, Gd, SquareThumb, ImageMagick
Acceleration = none, none
Operating system = Linux wolf 2.6.8-2-686-smp #1 SMP Tue Aug 16 12:08:30 UTC 2005 i686
Default theme = carbon
gettext = enabled
Locale = en_GB
Browser = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.2)
Rows in GalleryAccessMap table = 41
Rows in GalleryAccessSubscriberMap table = 944
Rows in GalleryUser table = 2
Rows in GalleryItem table = 942
Rows in GalleryAlbumItem table = 12
Rows in GalleryCacheMap table = 0

Any assistance gratefully recieved.

Dave

Are you running the gallery and blog subdomains with the same user? Can the files from gallery.domain be accessed from blog.domain?

They weren't as I had used oneclick to install WPG2 - I have since uploaded the files manually and can confirm that the owner of all the folders is the same.

I have to be honest and say that I am not sure how to check beyond that if files within gallery can be accessed from the blog.

Ok lets step back a moment, try creating a wordpress and gallery2 directory on the same domain and see if the WPG2 works (it should) that way we can eliminate any strange hosting environment issues.. If this works, I suspect that your provider may not allow the files to be access from a different domain thus why WPG2 cannot find the embed.php file and you may need to ask your hosting firm if this is possible..
