Gallery permissions required for lightbox support?

I don't particularly want users to have access to the full size originals... but it seems lightbox won't work without 'view all versions'. Is this a bug or a feature? Any way around it? |

It could be a bug in the Gallery2 fetchResizesByItemIds function however I am more inclined to believe that is the way this function needs the view all versions to work. I not seen any other lightbox script use a different technique so I feel the right function is being used.
I do not think I can get around this but I will query the G2 Developers about it..

If you can't get around it, you can't. Hell, if you're just not willing, I can live with that too. You've gone to lots of effort writing this, and I'm happy with what I can get!
Just trying to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
I use the printing modules to allow users to print my photos... but this requires the full resolution images to be uploaded to my gallery. Requiring 'all access' essentially gives everyone access to my full resolution images.
So I guess, my option is: disable lightbox, or disable printing.
