I used Remote 1.0 and it got the job done. Since upgrading Gallery to 1.3.4 and 1.3.5-csv-b22 with the new Remote, I get errors trying to add photos.

So in looking some stuff over, I was wondering if ImageMagic is required. I use netpbm which was download from Gallery

Is ImageMagic required?
Is there something else I need to do?
It just seems the new version of remote is unstable, but I'm willing to forge through it with you guys. So tell

Windows XP Pro
Apache 2.0.46
Gallery 1.3.5-csv-b22
PHP 4.3.2

What are the exact error messages you get?

Launched Remote
Logged in as admin
Dragged 6 photos
Highlighed the 6 photos
Clicked the Upload Pictures button on bottom
Error dialouge box with "Upload Error: User can not add to album"
The progress bar on the bottom continues to scroll, does not update the picture number etc. nothing appears in the album and now I will cancel th eapplication

The fact that the progress bar keeps scrolling is bad...

The fact that Admin would be prevented from uploading to an album is odd too. Could you PM me the log in details so I can try it out?

This should have no relationship to the fact that IM is used in GR. Gallery doesn't "know" that GR is using IM to resize images before uploading them.

an excerpt from the readme file in gallery remote:

Quote:
By default, GR writes most log information to the file log.txt in the directory where you installed GR. If you want to see more detailed information there, you can add the following lines to your GalleryRemote.properties file:

logLevel=3

Caution: Be careful before posting your log to forums or sending it to anyone: your password is printed in clear text in several places.

since you are using windows xp, the location of the GalleryRemote.properties file is most likely given in this bit from the readme page:

Quote:
The preferences files used to be stored in the same directory as the GalleryRemote executable, and has been moved (and renamed) to the current user's home directory. On recent versions of Windows, this is the Documents and Settings/<username> directory in the boot partition. When you upgrade from versions older than 1.0b6, you will lose your current preferences unless you copy the previously used remote.properties to <home directory>/.GalleryRemote/GalleryRemote.properties.

SOLVED the problem

I have introduced Panickware's Ad Stopper. I stopped it just because it was new to the environment and retested GR. Bingo it works. I am sorry for your effort on my mistake, but I too have been doing everything to make it function.

I am replying to you via PM and will put an entry in the general forum
