I both Wordpress and Gallery2. I basically use them each as standalone sites and use wpg2 to provide an easy way to insert pictures from my gallery into my blog. I've run into a bit of difficulty, however.

I have a hidden folder in the root of my main gallery that I can only see when I'm logged in as admin. When I use the image picker button from wpg2 in my wordpress site, however, I cannot see that folder as an choice in the tree. I have my administrator account in wordpress set up as a gallery2 user. (Actually the administrator is the only user in both systems.)

I really need to be able to pick items from this hidden folder. Does anyone have any ideas why I'm not given this as a choice. Thanks.

The G2 Image selector will only show what images your (mapped) Gallery2 User Account will have access to, what account are you using when you cannot see that folder?

Hi ozgreg...Thanks for your willingness to help. I may have accidentally stumbled upon the answer, but I'll post what I did just in case it might help someone else or if someone has any other comments.

I was using my Wordpress administrator account which is also an administrator on gallery2 and therefore should have been able to see all of the folders. That was why I was confused. However, since both my wordpress and gallery2 sites were stand alone, I was never actually going to the gallery2 site by way of wordpress (except through the image selector) and so the credentials were evidently not being established. I discovered that if I clicked on the "View Site" on the WPG2 tab in Wordpress, I then had the necessary credentials to see all the folders through the image selector.

Now, if someone knows a way that I can bypass this step of having to visit my gallery site through Wordpress before I write anything in my blog, I'd be very grateful. It seems an unnecessary step.

Ahh I think I may know what happens. The User Sync between Wordpress / Gallery2 only happens after you first visit the WPG2 Embedded Wordpress Page or Click on a G2 embedded Photo or visit the Gallery2 Users Tab, after this your accounts will be linked and you should not need to visit your Gallery2 to keep the account linked..
