I cannot get the upload applet to work consistently. About 90% of the time it will distort, corrupt, discolor, and completely hack up the images. It is inconsistent. I can upload the same three images 3 different times and get different results. There are no errors to report and nothing seems wrong until you see the images that were uploaded.

I uploaded some sample images here:
http://www.ma-architect.com/projects/v/projects/residential/test/
In this instance, two thumbnails were not created. I guess the original image I was uploaded was too corrupt to make the thumbnails.

I have seen multiple threads on this, but no answers or thoughts on what the solution could be. Someone mentioned sRGB formats on the files, but this does not work for users uploading images from their cameras like we do. And, this does not explain the random nature of what is happening.

I did have an install of Gallery 1 were the upload worked. The main difference I have seen between G1 and G2 in the Upload Applet is the use of jpegtran. From my understanding G1 used jpegtran and it worked, but G2 doesn't and it doesn't work.

I have tried the Gallery Remote on my machine and I get the exact same results. I have the latest version of Java on my machine. I have the same problem from all the machines in my office, XP Pro and Vista Business.

If anyone has any insight into this please help! Thanks!

"I cannot get the upload applet to work consistently"

Hi
I do actually have a similar problem. I run Gallery2 for two years know, loading about 4000 Pictures. Since I updated to Gallery 2.2.4 the upload Applet just produces black Pictures. It does not give any warnings either. Two days ago, the whole page went down after uploading with the applet. It took me one day to reinstall it again.

I work on a Mac G5 and G4 with latest Java-Updates installed. It does not matter, wehter I use the Safari, Firefox, Opera or the Shiira Browser.

Any help will be very much appreciated, thanks.

My Installation:

Gallery-Version = 2.2.4 Kern 1.2.0.6
PHP-Version = 4.3.11 apache
Webserver = Apache

It runs embedded into Joomla, but I upload via Gallery2 direct. (main.php)
