URGENT HELP Please - Rating stars not showing for all photos in IE

HI all - have a gallery at http://dogsites.com.au/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=56&g2_itemId=1898 but for some reason some photos do not have the rating stars shown when looking at the site in IE - works in Firefox - anyone able to help me out please as I cannot figure this one out.

Yes that might be because I have been fiddling with the settings and permissions trying desperately to get it to work - I reset all permissions and seems to be OK now - but will have to keep an eye on it.

Can you think of any reason it would be doing this?

create a test album without any modifications (matrix theme) and disable the moderate and see if you can reproduce.
acceleration? ( site admin -> Performance )

Ok I have deactivated the matrix theme as for some reason I could not get that to accept new parameters like rating interface when I tried to edit the matrix theme in the admin.

My default theme in Admin is Classic so that the prototype issues are resolved for me setting parameters for each theme - i.e. search box - untick the Advanced etc

Where are these parameters stored in the DB or a file - if I can locate those there may just be something there I can hard code or enter to ensure that the parameters are applied to all new images as they are added.

So as said I am now down to all is working for existing images, however when new images are added the parameters - like Rating interface are not added to the new image - if I go into admin, go to permissions for that album and delete the rating all access for everybody and then re-add it the permission is correctly set and the rating stars are shown

So I guess it is a permission problem..... See why I am going around in circles.

BTW I am using 2.2.1 - I have yet to update to 2.2.4 just doing the update on my test site first - will that correct the issue?

Hmm had not considered that.

The album that the photos are in has the correct permissions and it is that album that I go back to after I see an image added and then remove the permission and then re-add it to get it to work.

I have now gone one gallery up and have set that to allow ratings and see if that makes a difference.

Oh and I still have moderate on - this is to ensure appropriate photos are added - I cannot see why this would cause an issue with the permissions to show the rating stars

Same problem here after adding a new subalbum. All the old albums have the stars at the pics into them but the new ones not.

I check permitions at the new album and it has the same one than the old ones and even have deleted and re assigned that permitions and no starts at new photos.

It's more than a year later, and I too have this problem. I have created my own theme based on classic and the rating stars won't appear in newly created albums. I can't find anything else on the forum about this problem so maybe someone could look into this again?

Yes they are, I just checked that too. I also just reinstalled and removed/added the ratings plugin. The removing and adding caused the rating stars to disappear on all albums now and I can't get them to appear anymore.

Edit: enabling rating when creating a new album did the trick, so I think the bug lies in changing the rights afterwards.

Edit2: You shouldn't only change the rights, but also enable the rating in the 'edit album' section.

Guess this should help other people who stumble upon this topic too.

Note: the '... and for subalbums' checkbox doesn't stay checked and doesn't have the expected effect (for me anyway). It just enables ratings once, you have to check the ratings checkbox again when creating a new album.
