Gallery URL (optional but very useful): ..../public_html/modules/gallery/
Gallery version:1.3.3
Apache version:2.0
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):5.2.5
Graphics Toolkit:netpbm
Operating system: linux

the database server crashed and when we uploaded the backup, i started getting this error:
Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in .../public_html/modules/gallery/classes/gallery/User.php on line 37
when i accessed the site afte the crash, i did find that the permissions were changed. it also seems that the web hosting provider upgraded the server softwares...
Any help is appreciated... i have installed gallery on a number of sites I have, but tis is the first time this happens to me...
i do have a version of Gallery 2 running, but i dont use it because i have 25000 pictures on the G1 application, so migrating is really a nightmare...

Hi,
PHP5 is supported by Gallery 1.5.3 and newer.
Your Version is outdated (and has BIG security issues)
So you can choose the pain... Upgrade to a recent G1, or migrate to G2.

Hi,
I am also facing similar problem
Cannot re-assign $this in /home/xyz/public_html/gallery/classes/Album.php on line 561
My host provider has changed the version of php from 4 to 5. Earlier it was working fine. The version of gallery is 1.69.
I am not able to get login in admin of gallery also.
Please tell me what can I do?
