Hi All,

last week I installed the map module (version 0.5.4) on my gallery and everything seems to be working fine.

From yesterday I cannot see the markers I've created with some photos and albums in the "show gallery map" link.
The map appears to be blank, and it seems that there's no photos/albums with a marker on my website.

If I go on a photo/album that I've previously "marked" and I edit on the "Google Map" tab I cannot see the marker on the map, but i see the coordinates and I can also save a new marker on the map and save the informations (and there's no error mesage).

It seems that my module no longer save the marker data.

This morning I tried also to upgrade to version 0.5.5 listed on the plugins update page. The upgrade completed successfully, but the problem still persists.

Please find below the results of my system information (feel free to contact me if you need to clarify some italian Items ;-)

Thanks for the support!!!!!

Can you post a link to your gallery, or send me a PM with the link so I can see what's going on?

I can't see anything obvious, but I do have a suspicion. Can you try it with the Overview map disabled? If that doesn't fix it, try it with the automatic regroup disabled, too. Let me know what you find out.

I just disabled the overview map function in Google Map Admin Section and the overview tab disappears in the admin section, but not on the map!
now, IF you see the same map page , the overview is disabled, but you can see it!

I don't know how! It's very strange.

Also auto group option is disabled but the problem still persists.

Yes, I know, that's a bad UI design. Disabling it on the main Google Map admin page only removes access to the configuration tabs--it doesn't actually disable it. To do that, you have to enable the Google Overview Feature on the main Google Map admin page, then go to the Google Overview Settings tab and uncheck the "Enable" box. I'm planning to change that behavior in the future, so that when you disable something on the main admin page, it actually disables it instead of just hiding the configuration.

Great!!! now it works!

Do you think that this proble is related to the Overview feature (maybe a change in Google API) or is a specific problem related to my website.
Do you experienced the same issue with other websites?

Thanks a lot for the support.

I think it's a bug with the Overview feature. I suspect it's a Javascript problem. I'll see if I can reproduce it and then fix it in the next version (which has some Italian translation improvements, by the way).

Quick update--I haven't been able to reproduce this yet on my local development system, but it could be timing-related. I have debug turned on and it spews out a lot of extra stuff which could be screwing up the timing.

I have the same issue too - gallery at http://absoblogginlutely.net/pics/main.php?g2_view=map.ShowMap&g2_Mode=Normal&g2_Group=&g2_album=Miscellaneous
The pictures should be linked at Niagara Falls but I don't get any markers showing.
I've disabled the overview but that didn't make any difference. I've not had it working before as this is my first installation of the google maps plugin.

Well, the overview map definitely is causing problems--it's throwing errors on both Firefox and IE. It may be something else in addition to the overview map, though. Have you tried it with a different default theme, such as Matrix?

Just tried it with the carbon theme and that fails too - Happy Christmas!

Okay, I'll see what I can find. With quick testing, I haven't been able to duplicate it. Let me look at it some more, and if I still don't find anything, and if you're willing to give me a temporary admin account, I might experiment with some settings on your site to see what might be causing this. Regardless, the Overview map has a problem and needs to be fixed, so maybe I'll start there.

Okay, now I feel stoopid. The reason I couldn't reproduce the bug here is because I already fixed it in SVN. I was going to release the fix back in November but it slipped through the cracks. Expect a new release shortly.

Responding to my own comment again... I released 0.5.6 which has a handful of bugfixes in it. It should be available through DownloadablePlugins within a couple hours. Test it out and let me know if the problem still persists. Make sure you clear your template cache after upgrading or the fixes might not take effect.

Thanks SiliconFiend !

Could you also make it available via the Sourceforge d/l and update the codex page (some people may not be able to use d/l due to host restrictions)

Thanks again !

Done. I still need to read through my commit comments and update the changelog, though.

Well that's no big deal, it's mostly for us ^^.

What's important is that people can get only to the latest release to avoid having them post the same problems ^^

Thanks ;-)

awesome - thank you. I downloaded it by hand (as gallery still has it in at 0.5.4) and it works a treat.
