Font size in embedded Gallery2 is teensy tiny

I have integrated Gallery2 into a Joomla website. The problem that I am having is that the fonts and graphics to the embedded Gallery2 are appearing so small they are almost illegible. What files do I need to change to increase the font size. I know one is the theme.css file for my chosen theme. However, this is not changing everything. The font for such stuff as the exif data for the pictures are still showing up miniscule. What other file needs to be changed? Also, which file do I change to get rid of the Gallery logo on my Joomla embed?

I tried the method you referenced for changing the font size. However it did not work. Elsewhere in that CSS I was able to specify a specific font size for various elements. That worked for most items, but not for such things as page numbers and next and last links. Those items, as well as the EXIF info for each picture, remained in the small text. It is almost as if something else is still overriding the settings I put in for those items.

Thanks, this does work for Joomla. 100% was way to much for my Joomla template I went with 70% and it bumped the text up to normal size. I assume each template may be different.

Note: The classic theme has two locations for #gallery. You are looking for the second one that has the font size. Change that and all works. I assume this is why it did not work for the previous person.

I had the same problem and found the solution myself. But why don't the authors just fix the style sheet? Apparently the basic font size for the non-embedded Gallery 2 is defined big (I haven't found yet where) and then downscaled to 62.5 %, which is quite weird. But in the embedded version it's probably 62.5 % of the font size of the embedding CMS like Joomla!

Why don't the authors write the style sheets so that you get the same size no matter if you use the embedded or non-embedded version? It takes some time to find either the correct style sheet or the forum posting and then change the CSS - and again after each update. So hope you don't forget what you had changed last time when you upgrade. And when you encounter the problem you don't know if it's the fault of the bridging software or the CMS (e. g. Joomla) or Gallery 2). So please fix it!

If you want to apply this strange downscaling for the non-embedded Gallery 2, but not for the embedded, you can move the font-size style to body.gallery, which applies only to the non-embedded Gallery 2:

body.gallery {
background-color: #fff;
font-size: 62.5%;
}

Shouldn't take more than a few seconds in Firefox with the Firebug extension to find that info.

As for making the change and saving it. You should be creating your own theme or saving your changes into a local folder so your changes are not lost on an upgrade.

While there may or may not be something to fix, development on G2 has stopped. Maybe a new release for a serious bug, but for any enhancements, it's not very likely at all. All development efforts are focused on G3.
