Users cannot add images to albums that already have images

I have a group called Publisher who have the following permissions:

  • Publisher [comment] All access
  • Publisher [core] Add sub-item
  • Everybody [core] View all versions
  • Everybody [rating] All access

I am running the following:

  • Drupal 5.3 (soon to be 5.5)
  • Gallery: 2.2.3
  • Gallery Bridge Module: 5.x-2.0

If a member of Publisher goes to an album that has no images, there is a link that says "Add photos". The user can follow that link and upload images. If, however, the user goes to an album that already has images, there is no link anywhere on the page to add more images. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

The link to add photos to an existing, non empty album is there (but not obvious).
1. There is an "Edit" link at the bottom of the album page (left to "display mode: ...")
2. You can enable the "Action items" in your G2 sidebar, which also contain the "Add item" link
