I've installed a new version 2.2 on a new server (my old one 2.1 is on the old allways active servers).

I've allready tried to copy pictures and import the DB to the new one but it cause errors.

I've allready tried to copy the old DB and pictures to new server and... modify the "config.php" file so that it use the old DB on the new server -> errors !

My question:
How can I transfer the galleries (+/- 1200 pict.) from old servers/version to the news ones ?.. is there a tools ?

Thanks.

You need the same version Gallery on both servers else it will not work. There are differences in the DB's especially with major releases from 2.1 to 2.2. You need to upgrade your old server first and then move it.

You need a complete package. Since it's a major release there are so many changes (Gallery 2.3 is on it's way too). Only minor upgrades are availabe as small update files...And like it's written on the upgrade page: Make a backup of your DB first.

2.2.3 is the latest version. So I think the complete packages that are offered are only of the latest version. Maybe 2.2.2 is still available somewhere on the web. Google it I even found 2.0.1 somewhere but I have no idea what the site was.

You can also just move the 1200 pics (g2data folder). But then you will lose all other information that is stored in DB(like views, keywords etc.)

Thanks for your anwser.

I have to much difficult to find the way to have it done... to many problems.

But I have doing it in an other way... I have copied all the albums on the new server then I've used the "import from servers" option.

I lost all the albums names and the correct dates but with a little work, it will become in orde.

Thanks anyway.
