Adding a new MIME Type

Hi,

I don't succeed to add a new MIME type to gallery, using the mime type module. I want to add GPX files to albums and have a special thumbnail (with the thumbnail module) attached to this mime type.

I did the following administrator modifications:
In the MIME Types administration, I added a mimetype (application/gpx-xml) with extension gpx and checked the allow upload checkbox (tried viewable, but this had no effect and I prefer to leaf it off).

In the Thumbnails administration, I added a JPG file and attached that to my new MIME type.

After uploading a GPX file, the thumbnail isn't visible. When I did a little reverse engineering looking in the database (g2_DataItem table), I saw that the GPX got a text/plain MIME type.

Just to be sure, I added the same mime type to /etc/mime.types on my Linux box.

Is there something that I do wrong or forgot. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in Advance.
