I donwloaded the zip file (87kb) to upgrade from 2.2.2 to 2.2.3 unzipped and after loggin in gallery as admin nothig happens, instead in the help note is written that the webupgrader should start automaticaly and guide me through the process.

did you _successfully_ overwrite the existing files with the changed files from the zip?

right! that's seem to be the probelm,. when I unzipped the files a popup screen showed me the option (Y)(N) ect to type in for overwriting the files but no chance to typoe Y or N so I actually checked in the dir if those files were overwritten and that's not the case, what if I manually overwrite all the old files with the new that are in the zipped files? do I risk anything?
thank you very much for your help

- maybe you need to make the dirs writeable?
see: FAQ: How can I upload a theme or module via FTP when I used the preinstaller?

- yes, you can manually replace files
you can check if you made any mistakes with FAQ: How can I make sure that my installation files are all intact?

Thank you very much for your help. Monday I'll try to replace manually all those files hoping that all goes fine. By the way,can you suggest me a printable GUIDE on how to PERSONALIZE a theme? I went through some of the help in the web but it seem to me too hard to follow those instructions, some BASIC CONCEPTS still remain for me pretty uncomprensible. I.E. editing the *.tpl files, look to me pretty difficoult for somebody that is not so into the subject, any "simple" guide teaching the programming and editing of those files can be found somewhere?
Thank you again for any help
ciao
