Hi all

I have an issue that my pictures in my wordpress embedded gallery are first looking great, but if one album back and inside of the album again, I think the security get lost because I can only see the pictures that have the guest security.

any idea?

Anyone have seen this before?

Thanks,
Deer_eye

Moved to the WPG2 forums.
WPG2 version? Gallery2 version? Theme?

I don't understand "but if one album back and inside of the album again, I think the security get lost because I can only see the pictures that have the guest security."
Can you rephrase you question?

Dave

Hello

Thanks for moving my topic

Ok, I try to discribe it.

If I'm not logged-in (guest) everything works fine.
If I'm logged-in with any user (including admin) it doesnt work.
I open a album. The pictures are getting loaded - everythings normal.
I'm looking to another album. When I go back to the first album, it shows only the guest's security elements, not the others. There is a problem to load the thumbnails and pictures too. It shows a frame and this red cross, can't load the thumbnail.

It seems to loose the security of the logged-in user!

Try clearing your browsers cookies, then log back into your Wordpress blog and navigate over to your Gallery2 pages and see if you have the same issue..

Hi

Yes i do have to same. I have some user reporting the same on their computer.

Is there a problem, if I loggin with the gallery, not with the wordpress login form?
My users don't have to blog on my page, so I decided for the login of the gallery.

Thanks

Here I have a screenshot:

The URL: http://www.reisesucht.ch/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=1231&g2_serialNumber=4&g2_GALLERYSID=TMP_SESSION_ID_DI_NOISSES_PMT

The strange thing is, that when I click on the thumbnail, it shows me the picture without problems.
When I try with right mouse click - show picture - the error message appears:

Security Violation
The action you attempted is not permitted.
Back to the Gallery

Any idea?

It's very importend for me to run wordpress with gallery together. But If it makes problems like that, I have to flush wordpress.

If I work directly over my gallery www.reisesucht.ch/gallery/ it works without problems. the Problem exists only in association with wordpress.

Thanks in advance.

In Gallery2 -> Site Admin -> General Settings (the first page on Site Admin), go to the "Cookies" section towards the bottom, and enter a slash ( / ) in the "Path" box. This will force the cookies to play better between WP and G2. Even if it doesn't fix your problem, it will eliminate the g2_GALLERYSID=TMP_SESSION_ID_DI_NOISSES_PMT from your embedded G2 links.

If you click the + button next to "Cookies," you'll get a longer explanation. Make sure you pay attention to the final note:

Quote:
Once you change the cookie settings, all registered users of your Gallery will have to clear their browser cookie cache. If they do not, they will experience login / logout / lost session problems.

Great! Glad it's working.

We should probably add this to the installation instructions and/or wiki. I've added it to the FAQ here and here for now.
