Here is my site: www.mysticgate.com/home

why isn't it displaying properly? I managed to cram the conent into the proper width, but the sidebar is there, and it shouldn't be.

I tried loading the wordpress theme (since I not only want it to work, but I also want that juicy lightbx support) into G2, but it didn't do the trick

Why does this pull from the G2 theme at all? Why not just pull directly from the G2 data like the G2 theme does? It just seems to me like it's one more thing to break.

Help would be appreciated.

I'll let you cool down before I post much on this. And I'll gently remind you that all of us are doing this as a hobby. Not one of us (Ozgreg, me, ClimbingMonkey, Aylwin, et al) has made a penny on this (much to my wife's chagrin as I spend hours coding and posting in the support forums...) So, I think you'll find that you'll get much more help by keeping your anger out of your posts.

Now, I'm going to cool down myself before attempting to post a reply without flaming.

So I found and loaded v0.2 of the galleryembedded theme, (no idea how to get Lightbox to work, even though I have it checked in WP) and then deactivated sidebar content in G2 and that made it less ugly, but still not right.

Then I found this http://www.galleryembedded.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2108 and tried it out, and things are a bit better, but still not "there"

Try the latest snapshot of WordPressEmbedded here. It is lightbox enabled.

Ah. Need to make sure "Should Gallery2 have Lightbox Support?" is set to "Yes".

Now as to my formating, how do I change the font, get rid of the breadcrumbs (they're redundant), and get rid of that highlight when I mouseover any part of the gallery? DO I have to do that in the G2 theme, or can I do that in the wpg2header?

The way WPG2 works is it gets the WP header, then the whole G2 page, then the WP footer. So, anything that's in the WP header and footer, you have to edit from WP, and anything that's in the G2 page, you have to do in the G2 theme. So, once you figure out how to get rid of the G2 breadcrumbs, they'll be gone when G2 is embedded in WP, too. (I don't actually know the answer to those two specific issues, but the place to search is G2, not WP.)

You might want to look at this thread to see how to change the look when G2 is embedded compared to when it's standalone.

Thank you all.
If I may, it kind of hurts the accessability of this project having bits and pieces of it strewn across 6-7 websites (and the stuff on G2's site is strewn about even more). I really suggest going back to your own, independant site where all technical and CSS info and tips are easily found and accessible. If I had the time I'd volunteer to hammer away at your wiki pages. Maybe someday I will.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you on many points, but I think in the long run, staying on G2's site will be beneficial.

The biggest problem with having the info in the G2 wiki is currently a technical glitch: they're not searchable. We've requested that this be fixed, but it hasn't been yet. Once they are included in search results, it will help.

The biggest benefit we get is better access to the overall G2 community. G2 core programmers look at the forums sometimes now, when they hardly ever did when we were standalone. (I know I look at the other integrations forums to see what issues the other integrations have, and contribute to the wider G2 embedded community than I did on the old forum.)

So, on each individual post, I agree that we were better off on galleryembedded.com, but for the overall effort, I think we'll be better off here over the long run. (Especially once we get the critical mass of info on here and in the G2 wiki, if it's searchable...)

As capt_kirk pointed out we are all volunteers. If you feel that you can contribute, (even in a small way) it would help the project. The documentation is for the users by the users.
