Hi all,
I am new to Drupal and Gallery2 but have installed and integrated it fine, but need some help in configuring it.
I would like to be able to set it up so that each user on the website has their "own" image gallery and can be taken to this by an "add images" and "view my gallery" link. Is this possible? Site admins should be able to access any gallery and create galleries outside of the user folders.
I have also set up an extra field with simple descriptions (like Dog, Cat, Horse, etc) that I would like the users to be able to select from when they upload a picture. I can't however find how to access these even though I have set it up, it does not appear on the upload screen!
Finally gallery2 seems to produce thumbnails by just taking the central 75*75 pixels from an image. Is this a bug or a settings problem at my end.
Grateful for any help you can give me in solving any or all of the above issues
Many thanks,
Gareth

Most of this is possible with the 'User Album' plugin (http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:useralbum) in Gallery2. You might need to change the layout/template in Drupal to include links at certain locations pointing to the galleries. With the 5.x-2.x series of gallery.module thats quite easy to achieve. I'd suggest you play with the user albums in G2 first and ask specifically for help if required.
You are talking about the 'Custom Fields' plugin, right? AFAIK the fields dont show up on the upload page, but as an extra tab on the 'Edit Photo/Album' pages. For more details on this you should better ask at the general support forums.
You can configure the thumbnail size, clipping, format, etc, for example you have a 'Crop thumbnail' tab for each image. Sounds like you are using 'Square Thumbnails' plugin, which by default crops the thumbnails to be squared. But again this is more about G2 in general than for the integration forums ;)

Thanks for the pointers.
It's a fairly standard install (I believe) so don't know which plug-ins are installed or not - I will investigate; especially the user albums.
For the thumbnails though, it's not the shape that's an issue; but what is being shown. It's not resizing the image - just taking the central portion out.
I'll play with user albums; if this works out I'll post about the others in a more general forum.
Thanks again,
Gareth
