Hi,
I didn't see a post on the front page about this issue (I have seen it discussed elsewhere, and one thread here that has not been addressed with a less clear title).
After upgrading from 2.1.2 to 2.2.2 I found that the upload applet resize feature malfunctions in some way, and the added image is labeled "image.gif" while uploading and is a plain black image.
When I upload the same image without the resize option ticked, it works normally.
I wonder if this has something to do with the new security features that gallery2 has added to the upload applet. My root directory is password protected so now, I have to enter my username and password when I load the applet, then I click "trust" the applet. Lastly I have to enter in my username and password when adding my first image, for some reason.
I hope there is a solution to this; the resize on upload was a great feature.
Thanks.

I want to bump this thread as I still have the problem, on Gallery 2.3 (it works as expected on Gallery 2.1). I can apparently not use the "resize before upload" feature of the upload applet because it does not work. Any ideas as to how to get it to work?
To resummarize, when I "resize on upload" an image that needs a resize, a black image replaces the image I uploaded. If I uncheck the "resize on upload" box, the image uploads correctly, but I am trying to conserve space on my server. I had originally thought that this might have something to do with the new security features, but after disabling the password protection on my directory, it still does not work correctly.
Thanks for any info.

I am having my behind kicked on the same issue - right now ...
Here is the urgency -
It seems that the ONLY way to upload that preserves iptc keywords is gallery remote... so I want (need) to use the application. some of the galleries are large (400 to 600 images) I get memory issues (yes I set Xmx256M) and imagemagick not found (reinstalled IM and get the same error)
If gallery remote is not able to do the upload ... what is
