Managing your photographs locally

Not quite gallery related, but still very relevant

When I shoot a wedding for example, I generate lossless 35-45MB TIFF files. Clearly Im not going to upload images this size into my galley

How do you guys manage your original files locally?

Ideally I would like to mirror my online data -structure localy, so when a file is ordered, I can be right on it

Im generating 500 - 1500 files a week, and it is growing

Any ideas?
