Change photo names to EXIF/IPTC Title

Hi, is it possible to change the display of the photo names from the filename to the EXIF/IPTC title? I found a option under the EXIF/IPTC Settings:

"When photos are added to Gallery check for IPTC Object Name and apply to: Item Title"

It does nothing for new uploaded pics, or how can I change already uploaded pics to the image caprion?
