No, I'm tellin ya - on the "plugins" page - I have an option to upgrade Checkout and nothing more. On the "get more plugins" page - I have an option to "modify" Checkout and nothing more. This is why I am having a problem with Checkout - I've tried upgrade and get the above error - I've tried modify and get the option to add a language pack which changes nothing....
I am going to forward this to my host and see if he can help me with the database change so I don't destroy everything...
I have a Drupal embedded gallery and have just installed the checkout module. It works great most of the time, except when I update quantities in the cart and then "Continue Shopping". Sometimes instead of returning to the embedded Gallery the user is returned to the stand alone gallery.
Hi all,
Ok I've got the checkout installed properly with Paypal and an option to download with the purchase of one size of the photo. But the purchased photo still has the watermark attached to it. How can I get the watermark off of the purchased picture, but leave it on the viewable one in the gallery. The two are the same size.

I think I have a mini-bug ... the admin pages for the Checkout,Checkout by email and Checkout by Paypal all have center-justified html in the main section, whereas for every other admin page the html is all left-justified. I mean the main panel under the heading (also centred for some reason) "Checkout Settings" etc
Obviously this is a stylesheet thing, but although I can see some differences in the applied styles for this page compared to the other admin pages (using that cute `Web Developer firefox plugin that lets you hover over items and see the css elements that apply) I'm a bit hesitant about hacking around deep in the "...form #siteAdminform > table > ..." as changing one bit of css always seems to throw other stuff off.
Can anyone suggest why these pages should be out of kilter with the rest of the site admin?

Hi,
Great mod- Very clean and easy. I am uing the email checkout plugin as I want to bill my clients rather than make them pay via CC.
I currently have a problem with it though, Client logs in and chooses their photo, they then add it to the cart and check out. The system sends them an email with the download link. Once they click the link they are presented with a screen with 2 buttons (download zip, continue shopping) It all works great up untill this point. When you click on the download as zip button nothing happens, the page reloads back to the main.php page of my gallery and no download window opens.
I thought it might be a cookie issue so I deleated all my cookies but the problem is still there.
Im using 2.2
Any ideas or help would be great!
Thanks

Look to me that the download zip do not create a zip files.I think that you my have to have the "download zip" module installed and configure.I am out of luck as my host do not provide any zip executable.I am trying to solve this with some zip programs, but so far no luck. The other option is to change host.

No, that is incorrect. The zip download module is part of the old cart solution and must be uninstalled together with the old cart. Checkout contains its own zip logic. Zip must also be supported by your PHP installation.

I was having the same problem.
It seems that checkout has an issue creating the zip file before receiving payment notification unless the "Allow user to download items in the cart without payment" option is turned on. Of course, this short-circuits the email. (I'm guessing that the module creates the zip file when it gets a response from PayPal, etc.)
This is what I did, it's a cheap hack, but works:
Turn on "Allow user to download items in the cart without payment".
Then comment out the section of ConfirmPhotos.tpl which puts the "Download as Zip" button on the confirmation page.
Here's the section to comment out:
Now the module will prepare the zip file for download, but will not show the user a button to download it until they come in via the link in the email.
Seems to be working for me, but it's nasty, as I said. (But it is quicker than looking through the class files to figure out how to tweak the order of processing, which would be the right way to do it.)
HTH.

Using PayPal Sandbox all of the payments are "completed" unfortunately I still get this message after redirecting back to my gallery2 for download:
"PayPal: Payment Being Processed
Thank you - your payment is being processed by PayPal.
You will shortly receive confirmation of your payment and order details directly from PayPal at the email address you provide.
You have ordered downloadable items but your payment has not yet been cleared. Please click the Refresh button on your browser to try again. If you havae any problems, please contact us."
Even if I do "refresh" nothing happens.
I repeated with several transactions all work perfectly with a "completed" status. But alas no download link or button.
I have zip download path as: user/bin/zip
I'm baffled: here are some screen shots.
p.s.
I also tried clearing cache and deactivating the zip download module; but got the same result.
I also deleted the PayPal Sandbox accounts and created new ones; no luck.
I also deleted the plugins and re-installed them and set permissions same as core; no luck.
I tried clearing the tmp filesp; no luck

I've been working with checkout a couple of days to add an "Art Gallery" album to my existing Gallery 2 and have a couple of questions. My Gallery 2 is embedded in Postnuke using the mgallery2 module.
I started by creating a new top album named "Art Gallery" with a custom theme (modified Matrix) and will have nested albums for each artist. The Gallery is meant to sell physical art like watercolor prints. The artists will ship direct, so I have to figure out how to handle shipping.
I've added one artist album and some items and things seem to be working using the Paypal module tested in Sandbox.
Questions:
1. The "Continue Shopping" button links to the top of the gallery rather than to the "Art Gallery" album, how can I change that?
2. How can I get past the fact that the customers have to "add to cart" from the detail view before they can view prices and options. The only thing I can figure is to add a custom field "price range" with a note that they have to "add to cart" to see price details. This part seems really clunky and not how a regular store of any kind would work, you expect to see prices on detail pages.
jayhen: I have searched your post here and don't see the issue I have run into with the Checkout Module.
I am upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2.3 and everything has gone fairly well. Had a bump or two, but have resolved them I think. Went to upload the new version of Checkout (the version I had was .14). When I tried to use the plugin update it kept erroring out as it was looking for ".cvsignore" which was not present in my current folder. I had to download your zip for .18 then extract the ".cvsignore" file out and move it to the proper server directory and change it to 777, the the upgrade worked.
Just thought you may want to know this. I don't think the file is suspose to be in the plugin download package anyway, but this is a work around for those who are in the same boat I was in.
Thanks,

Hi All,
I'm trying to get the View Cart (View Basket in my case) link to be one of the SystemLinks so it shows alongside login, register, etc etc.
Here's what I've done: in checkout/module.inc I've added this function:
and modified the relevant line in function CheckoutModule to register the getSystemLinks callback:
.
.
$this->setCallbacks('getSystemLinks|registerEventListeners|getSiteAdminViews|getItemLinks');
.
.
I think this is all I should need to do, but it's not working: have I missed something obvious?
Thanks for any suggestions

Ok I uninstalled and reinstalled the module and that works fine. Is that a necessary step, or is there a way to do it without having to reenter all my custom products again?

alecmyers: What I have found that seems to work is after making any template modifications to go to the admin->Maintenance and empty the template cache. I have found that until the template is cycled through the old version will remain in the cache and that is what you see. At one time I was told by the Authors that the cache was suppose to see the modified template and reload, but I think this only happens when you end the session and re-login or at least that is what I have experienced in the past. You may try that next time.
Also, be aware that when you uninstall the checkout modules that it will clear all of your db records in the two tables. I just upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2.3 and had to uninstall these module and the checkoutemail which I also use in order to get some of the db structure changes updated and it cleared the two tables, but it kept the autoincrement numbers at the same positions where they left off when I reinstalled them. I did backup the db, but I think the new fields may cause a problem if I reload the data, so I'm just going to start the orders over from here.

jayhen: In the checkoutemail module is there a way that I could have the Order Number included in with the confirming email that is sent. I am thinking that the g_id from the CheckoutTransaction table would be a good field to use as an order number. We use the checkoutemail module to send the orders to our Photography committee for filling and our membership just send in checks so we don't use the paypal module. My committee chairperson is starting to have trouble know when and what orders are being sent and/or filled. I assume the CheckoutTransaction table is updated before the CheckoutEmail is called?
I'm also watching archetechs thread over in the old forum on Checkout to see how he develops a window into the orders table. This is something I'm working on to provide my committee chairperson and our Treasurers a way to status the orders.
I know these are probably feature request, but I thought I would see if I could take a shot at development of something.
Cheers,

damon18:
1 (continue shopping returns to top of gallery) It does this I think when you have no "session" - as soon as you have something in your cart, it works like you'd expect. I think this could be fixed, as the call into the View Cart page includes the return information in the URL.
2.(view purchase options on detail page) You could include the add to cart View as part of your template's photo.tpl page, perhaps? Or modify the cart contents block (the one that displays "you have x items in your cart" on every page) to include more information, including ordering links for the item on that page - the code for that block is in the modules/checkout/templates/blocks/showCart.tpl file.
Either way you'll need to do some light code hacking

Hi!
Just installed the Checkout and Checkout via PayPal modules and got them working a treat.
My question is this:
I sell my art work via my website and each one is unique, once it's sold it's sold. How can I EXCLUDE certain items from being added to the cart? Or is there a way to have this automatically happen once someone goes through the Checkout and over to PayPal?
I've written some mods to the checkout module to allow automated purchase of the "view original items" permission. The idea is that users and guests can see (for free) the resized and watermarked images in an album, then purchase through checkout a special item which unlocks access to the full size (original) pictures.
This needs to be set up using permissions and groups. First give everyone permission to view resizes. Then create a group and give it permission to view the original images in your particular album. Thirdly create a Custom Field called 'unlock_group' and add the group name into that field for the selected album. Finally create a new Checkout Item which must have the internal reference 'unlock'.
When the user purchases the 'unlock' item they are automatically added to the given group. They *must* return from Ebay to the gallery page to see the "checkout complete" page for this to happen - the view for this page has the code that adds the user to the relevant group(s).
The code mods are in the attached file. Files that need altering are: classes/CheckoutHelper.class, Confirm.inc, SelectProduct.inc, ConfirmPhotos.inc, SelectProducts.tpl, and from module checkoutpaypal PaymentComplete.inc and templates/PaymentComplete.tpl.
'unlock' items are not displayed to users who are not logged in. If the specified group doesn't exist it is ignored. The code checks through the complete ancestry of the chosen item so you can set the 'unlock_group' at any level, or at more than one level.
Using a hard-coded product reference ('unlock') is a bit ick, but it minimizes the number of files that need altering (no need to change the admin interface) - maybe jayhen can incorporate this feature into his next revision of the code, and tidy up that aspect.
Please note that I'm not a "real" programmer so the code changes may be a bit rough, or even buggy. Use at your own risk, any suggestions appreciated.
I have checkout setup and working as expected 99% of the time. The checkout by email and Paypal are also installed and both work. The problem that I am trying to sort out in at least 2 instances on different computers with different OS my customer gets an HTTP500 error message. Since this is only persistent on 2 computers that I know about, i don't know how to go about finding them a solution. I have never had the same thing happen on any of my machines or browsers.
checkout 0.1.18
email 0.0.10
paypal 0.1.12
I have read the FAQ on error 500 and done maintenance as directed on my Gallery install. I have not worked with my host yet. I thought to check with you guys first.
Thank you.

Yesterday i tried to install this module first time. First i installed the old module linked on the menalto modules page, than i get some errors and beginning with searching to found this thread here...
So i installed the new version and i'm not sure, but i think i get some trouble with my url rewrite module. So in uninstall all files of checkout, try to get my old configuration back but the rewrite module didn't work with same config at the past. But ok, it works if i uncheck some preference and for the first time it's ok, my gallery works fine...
Today i try again to install the checkout module + mail & paypal. I put the files to my server, going to the module list in admin panel and activate checkout... The browser refreshing and bring me to a blank white page. If i go back to my admin panel, all works fine... Clicking on "Plugins" give me a blank page.
If i delete the files from the server (again), the plugin page works fine. A new upload of the files make nothing better... after activating same blank white page.
Same problem on the direct download over the modul page in the admin panel.
What i make wrong? What i can do?

Jayhen,
I am still running checkout 0.1.15 checkoutemail 0.0.8 checkoutpaypal 0.1.10
I have been holding off upgrading until the next version but maybe waiting is not the best thing to do.
I have been seeing a bug:
When a quantity other than 1 is selected in the cart for a photo when 'save changes' this resets to 1 again. Also when 'continue to checkout' the same thing happens. Is this known and has it been fixed?
Is there anything I ought to consider if upgrading as I dont want to break my production album!
Thanks

Is there a way to remove the link "Add Photo To Cart" when viewing in Album mode, but still keep it when viewing the individual photo page?
There's a checkbox on the checkout config page for "allow users to add entire contents of album to cart." Unchecking that may do it.
Also. if you're using Pedro Gilberto's themes they are seemingly endlessly configurable and have preferences for exactly where to put what icons.
The closer you are to the code, the happier you are.

paulcobb - I've done little on the checkout official release since you last asked the question, due to lack of support, so my reply is the same as before. Backup, create a test site with your production data, then try it and see.
Hello everyone,
I got everything working exactly how I want it----EXCEPT---when I click the "Download as Zip" button, it prompts me to download the file as an "application/octet-stream". I have no idea what this is...so I click SAVE TO DISK and then the file is saved as "kau5s8hi" and it has NO zip extension. HOWEVER. when I rename the file and append the ".zip" extension to the end of the file name, it then becomes a zip file and lets me extract it!
Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on and how I can fix this? This is the only stumbling block. Thanks!
I am using FireFox, but I tested it in IE6 and it's the same problem.

I fixed this zip download issue.
Last question: Since I am selling digital downloads, I don't need the "quantity" field on my checkout pages. Does anyone know which code to remove from the templates? I tried to remove some of the code but it won't let me get to the next screen during checkout because of some "set quantity" prompt/error.
Has anyone been able to successfully remove the quantity fields successfully? Thanks.

Skunker,
Make sure that you have selected to preset the quantity to 1 in the Checkout plugin setup. Then you can remove the quantity field from the page.
I don't think I did anything else, but it is a way back so I am not 100% sure at the moment.

ok.. I'm new to the Gallery2 software but I need some help. I must be doing something wrong because the checkout module with paypal only works in the admin mode. When I setup a reg user, the "add to cart" doesn't work. If I try to install the "Cart" module I can use the "add to cart" when I'm logged in as another user but I don't get a checkout button or the options I have setup. Anyone else come across this or know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

Yes, this sounds like a PERMISSIONS issue. You need to double check your cart permissions and make sure that you have enabled it to work for EVERYONE and not just ADMIN. Mess with the EDIT PERMISSIONS menu.

thanks,, but where is the EDIT PERMISSIONS menu? I've looked in the admin section on the nav at the side and also in the checkout mod configurations.. I did change the file permissions in to 777, is this what you mean? unfortunately changing the file permissions there did not work.

I am talking about the permissions in the SITE ADMIN for your theme. I think it was like in EDIT ALBUM --> EDIT PERMISSIONS. If you can't find it, just do a search in the Gallery2 document/wiki for "edit permissions" or something like that and you should be on your way. GOod luck!

I just found where it to set the permissions.. Thanks for your help!
To my last question...
I fix the problem. As i get an tip to activate the debug mode, i got the problem. The "ZIPCART" module brings up the error of the blank page after activating checkout. So i delete zipcard (i don't need them) and checkout works fine.
But now i have a new question... I will only use "Checkout over E-Mail" and on my first testrun it works fine. Only the thumbnails don't showing up in the mail (so i activate this in the module config). The link to the file and all other informations are correct. And the path to the broken thumbnail brings me to the right page of the original picture.
Anyone an idea what i can check to fix the thumbnail problem? The "short url" module is active...
Edit:
Just another question...
If i going to the shopping card to check my order, the template was modifing by checkout. In the left top corner i can see always (?)an image of my little daughter including and a seperated link back to the mainpage. So i'm a little bit confused why "destroyd" the template of X_treme. If you have any idea?
And the last one thing...
I try to localize checkout and checkout over mail, but i have a lot of trouble on the checkout modul. A lot of english text or words are didn't exists in the actually german .po file but i found them in the "strings.raw". So what i can do to localize the rest of the english text to german?
On checkout over mail i can complete the german localization...
So, thats all for today...
Happy new year ;-)

I fix the problem with the shopping cart template bug.
It was a "code desaster" inside the template who i used (X-Treme). If you have the same, try this who worked for me...
Open the file "module.tpl" from /themes/x_treme/templates/
Found near 14: <table border="0" style="margin:10px">
Scrolling down to </table>
(near 52)
Delete the content (please be sure that you made a backup before deleting some code)
Try a relaod...
If you not sure to delete the right code, here are the complete one who you must remove:
Firstly thanks for all your hard work on making this module for Gallery2..
I have 0.18 of checkout, checkoutbyemail, paypal all working well in Gallery2 2.2.4 except for one problem
The checkout process works wonderfully, takes the user to paypal but once the transcation is approved and it tries to return to Gallery2 i get this error..

Greetings everyone,
I'm not sure how many people are aware of this (it took me a lot of digging to find it), but as of Checkout v0.1.15 (according to the changelog), you can specify per-album pricing using the custom fields. If you move the two custom fields CheckoutPricing and CheckoutProducts from Photo Fields to Common Fields and use the same syntax for CheckoutPricing, you can specify per-album pricing. I contributed to the Checkout Module documentation by updating the Per-Item pricing section to include Per-Album pricing information based on my current understanding of it. If anyone sees any problems with it, feel free to edit it or tell me and I'll change it.
Also, can somebody explain to me why some posts refer to 0.0.18 and others to 0.1.18. Are these really the same? Does the second digit imply anything significant?
Thanks,
treycentric

treycentric - thanks for updating the docs. 0.1.18 and 0.0.18 are one and the same.
Hello, there appears to have been a rise in interest in the checkout modules. I'm planning to reorganise the project, making it easier for other people to contribute. Could anyone who is interested in participating in the ongoing development of the checkout modules, and has at least moderate coding abilities, please send me a private message expressing your interest. You could optionally mention any specific interest in areas you'd like to develop. I will attempt to coordinate efforts.
Otherwise, some may be interested to know that I'm planning on putting a simple order manager together. The initial version will be simple, but will at least plug a big gap in the modules' abilities.
Perhaps it could be added to the Checkout module settings in a future version? (Similar to the checkbox "Users may add entire contents of album - enables the 'Add Album to Cart' option on album.")

Hello,
I am brand to to using gallery2.
Just installed this plugin. It is configured. Evertying appears on the site admin menu.
But on the gallery after adding items to the cart there is no checkout option anywhere?
How do you get this to work after configuring it.
Also there is no "view cart" button anywhere in my gallery. The only way to see the cart is to add something to it?????????? whats up with that?

Thanks
Vince

Look to me that the download zip do not create a zip files.I think that you my have to have the "download zip" module installed and configure.I am out of luck as my host do not provide any zip executable.I am trying to solve this with some zip programs, but so far no luck. The other option is to change host.

The zip modual works on its own when you use it with other applications, just not when you go via the link it sends yuo in the email

How do you configure the zip module?.What dir it is the executable?
Thanks

No, that is incorrect. The zip download module is part of the old cart solution and must be uninstalled together with the old cart. Checkout contains its own zip logic. Zip must also be supported by your PHP installation.

hmm,Im at a bit of a loss here, I have uninstalled the orginal zip from the old cart, Still when I click the link in the email i get the correct page asking me to click to download as a zip, yet when I click all it does is return me back to the main gallery. The zip button link displays main.php
Its like its missing somthing.
Any other ideas?

Here is a link to the "Art Gallery" album with one artist setup so you can see what I've got so far.

jayhen: I have searched your post here and don't see the issue I have run into with the Checkout Module.

/**
* @see GalleryModule::getSystemLinks
*/
function getSystemLinks() {
$links = array();
$links['checkout'] = array(
'text' => $this->translate('View Basket'),
'params' => array('view' => 'checkout.SelectProducts',
'return' => 1));
return array(null, $links);
}
and modified the relevant line in function CheckoutModule to register the getSystemLinks callback:
.
.
$this->setCallbacks('getSystemLinks|registerEventListeners|getSiteAdminViews|getItemLinks');
.

Morton

Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers!

Oops! Cancel that, found it.
In case anyone else needs it: you go in to the image Permissions and remove the Purchase Item thing from the list of permissions.

All,
I've written some mods to the checkout module to allow automated purchase of the "view original items" permission.

That does not affect the way photos are viewed in album view.
I'm not using it, but I'll check out the theme for any insight it may give.

Cheers,
Andreas

GOod luck!

Screenshot: http://media.com-2-mac.de/public/pics/ZZ140EFC1E.jpg

Found near 14:
<table border="0" style="margin:10px">Scrolling down to
</table>(near 52)
Delete the content (please be sure that you made a backup before deleting some code)
Try a relaod...
If you not sure to delete the right code, here are the complete one who you must remove:
<table border="0" style="margin:10px"> <tr> <td style="text-align:left"> {assign var=itemId value=$theme.item.id} {if ($theme.moduleTemplate == "modules/comment/templates/AddComment.tpl") || ($theme.moduleTemplate == "modules/comment/templates/EditComment.tpl")} {g->text text="You are commenting:"} {else} {g->text text="Go to:"} {/if} <br/><br/> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="text-align:center"> {$ImageBlock} </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="height:50px"> <a href="javascript:history.back()"> {literal} <script type="text/JavaScript"> //<![CDATA[ <!-- back = {/literal}"<< Back"{literal}; function historyBack(){document.write(back);} historyBack(); //--> //]]> </script> {/literal} </a> </td> </tr> </table>Posts: 2

Thanks,
treycentric

Hello, I use the LinkItems module http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:linkitem to link to albums or external URLs. Is there a way to disable the "Add Link to Cart"?
To see an example go to http://www.skylark.co.nz/gallery2/v/nzw/kah/bat/ and look at the fourth item in the top row.

Thanks
