joomla - please help a newbie

Hello,

i installed Gallery 2.2.1, and uploaded content. everything works fine.
i installed Joomla 1.0.12, and uploaded news items. everything works fine.

i added the latest Joomalib build - installation success.
i added the latest Gallery 2 Bridge component.
i added the latest Gallery 2 Bridge Image module.

everything went without any problem. it was as smooth as butter. no error, nothing.

I still get the G2_WRONG_ITEMID_ error when i click on a preview image at the homepage.

and a typical image preview link **example address**- http://www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=99999999&g2_itemId=145
[all image previews do that]

Now.. I'm pretty newbie with all of this. Had Joomla installed just a week ago.

I read nearly all the FAQ's, readme's, forum posts.. but still can not get it to work.

Can you guys, puh-lease, walk me through this ?
I tried doing that alone.. no go for me
