Problem with users adding pics

I'm using Gallery 2 embedded in Drupal 4.7. Everything works fine. I'm using the Floatrix theme. I originally set it up so only I (admin) could add albums and photos. However, I'd like to allow my registered users to upload their own photos.

Here's my problem. Going to Site Admin >> Theme allows a user to change "Blocks to show in sidebar" and add, for instance a "Search Box" or "Language Selector" which places these on top of my EXISTING Drupal sidebar items rendering them unreadable.

The "General" and "Album" options are fine it's the "Theme" link that I'd like to do away with (for all but admin). Is there any way this could be done without MAJOR hacking of the code? Are there themes out there that DON'T make use of sidebars? Maybe I'm missing an option to turn that off for all but admin?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

In Drupal create a role for say Family and set their permissions . Fly over to gallery and add the users there to this group which should be in Gallery.
Once you have created a folder , say Family , you can set all permissions for that folder in the folders Album actions menu. You dont need to be in the site admin area , just logged in as NO 1 user. This way you can give them the exact permissions you want , while giving more permissions to the group Administrators , which you probably created in Drupal and so is also in Gallery. Damn , I'm starting to confuse myself now ... Think in Groups and Roles ? Is this what you were asking ?
