[solved] problems uploading MANY pictures

Hi,

I am new to gallery and have a "more advanced" problem already ;-)

I want to make a gallery (version 2.2.x) containing > 150,000 pictures in > 20,000 subcategories.

The files are sorted by directories and contain additional information for sorting in IPTC keywords (the same information as in the directory structure that is).

What I want to do now is upload the pictures with minimal effort, transforming the directory structure into a category structure.

I understood that galleryadd.pl (version 2.30) is designed to do exactly this. It is working, but it stops working after < 500 pictures.

Do the filenames have to be unique (as I saw all pictures are stored into one directory)?

Are there filename/directoryname restrictions? (only containing alfanumeric and _- here)

Are there size/number limits to the application? if yes, where can I set them?

I would provide my log, but I am at work atm. Will do in the evening if necessary.

Found the problem. Had empty files in the directory tree.
