Gallery 2 is great and honesty after using it for a year I've had no problems.
I can think of only one improvement that would be extremely helpful to many.
There should be a way to check your file permissions from inside gallery 2 instead of looking a error log files to fine the cause of error 500.
A simple script to show files with the wrong permissions instead of complete listing of all files because that would just be to big of a list.

You may have noticed the checks in the upgrade wizard about storage folder permissions. in g2.2, it would only show a simple warning that they're wrong...well in case they're wrong.
in g2.3 it's listing the files that have incorrect permissions or are missing.

it's probably not exactly what you're looking for, but it comes close.

as for feature requests, make sure to file them officially.
