Migrating two separate G1.4 installations to a single new G2.2 install?

I have two separate Gallery 1.4 installs on the same server in folders /gallery/ and /dad/gallery/.

I have decided that I want to create a gallery2 install at /gallery2/ and then merge the contents of both gallery1 installs into this new gallery2 install. Should I just run the Migration plugin twice or should I first try to merge the two existing v1 galleries into a single G1 install before I migrate the whole mess to G2?

I have about 1.5gigs in dad's albums and 0.25 gigs in my own. I am also curious to hear how the URL rewriting might work once I have *two* outdated v1 galleries laying around.

Thanks!

You can just import each to your g2 directly.

Sweet. Will they both have fully-functional URL rewriting in place? What about the fact that I have albums called /album01/ in each v1 gallery? All accounted for?

Hmm. Probably not. You might be able to hand edit your gallery1 redirects (in the .htaccess files) to include prefixes for each source gallery, then rename the filenames in the migration mapping table with the appropriate prefixes. It would be complicated, but it would work. Otherwise, I don't know what will happen.
