Show Subalbums in 1.6 Matrix theme?

Hi Jens!
Did you create the Matrix theme?
Okay.. let me explain... I have a website with the types of gallerys. This three types have a lot of subalbums.
This three albums should be on the same level - and the visitor should have the possibillity to jump direct into the right album.
For example.
Lets think we have a bar with a gallery with three albums "events", "team", "location"
When the visitor likes to see pictures from "15/06/2007" he only should need one click.
Is this a lot of work to add the feature with the subalbums?

Nearly everything that new in 1.x is made by me ;-)
What about the normal/classic theme?
I still have no idea how to do the layout with subalbums in the matrix theme.
Its no a question of work.

Hmm.. I do not like the start page when there is only one gallery in one row.
I'd like to create a very easy and compact gallery.
