add a radom image and words block into a html nodule

Hi all

I am updating www.swindongallery.org.uk and with to add a couple of random / last images into the welcome text witch has been created using the an html module (see http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Module_Development_Tutorial )

I also wish to display the contents of the tag cloud as block as part the main template

Can someone point me in the right direction as how to do this?
