I'm getting the error HTTP Post Failed (HTTP 500) with Gallery Remote after upgrading Gallery to 2.2.1. Any clues on what's wrong or how it might be fixed?
I'm also running Gallery Remote 1.5.1-b30, which I just downloaded from the website to make sure I had the most current version and that this wasn't the cause of my error. It didn't help.
I (and the sites I manage) really depend on GR and I hope I can get it working again.
Update: I even went back and downloaded the whole JVM again with GR to make sure the JVM that I was using wasn't the problem. I still get exact same error.
Update 2: I ran the Gallery Remote Debug.exe application and from what I'm pretty certain that the app is failing when it tries to fetch the initial list of albums. If nothing else, I'm positive that it's letting me successfully log in, as I can see that in the app and the debug screen. Help!?

So I'm embarrassed. Upgrading to the latest version of the Remote plugin (version 1.0.9) solved all my problems. Knowing that Gallery 2.2 would automatically install updates (but having not used this feature yet), I thought G2 would tell me if a newer version of the plugin was available.
The interface was kind of confusing. On the plugins page, G2 reads "Get More Plugins". Very understandably (IMHO), I took that to mean "download plugins you don't have yet."
Anyway, it's all working now.

That's why Linux is still not widely accepted yet. Many programmers still do not think in terms of end-user's level of Linux familiarity. A linux beginner will be put off by all the confusions. It's just not that easy to get things going in Linux.
But I must say Linux has come a long way. It's getting better. Hopefully, it will be usable by the general public soon so that most of us are not forced to use Windows.
Cheers.
