a better slider theme?

I would like to implement this functionality http://meins.mine.nu/cgi-bin/filexchange.cgi as a theme in gallery. It is maybe not as nice as slider, but on the functionality it has gone where slider stopped half way.
- subfolder navigation directly in the thumbnail pane
- automatic scrolling of the thumbnail pane
- easy accessible upload form
- easy creation of subfolders (just type the name, form is at end of thumbs)
- buttons to move/copy items around
- simple to add comments to picture

I wonder if this is possible with gallery2 because the slider theme only offers half the stuff gallery2 has available. There must be a reason. Too complex?

The above URL is a demo site. it only has full functionality (comments etc...) if the username is known. To "register" the name, you have to upload something or simply enter crap into the upload form fields, it will then register the username in a cookie.

too complex? i don't think so.
it always depends on what the theme author wants to accomplish. it looks like the slider theme was good enough for the author and there haven't been any popular requests or even developers interested in this theme.

anyone is welcome to improve it or to create similar themes.
