adding all thumbs of an ablum to a template

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to show thumbnails for all of the images within a specific album within a php page. This is within drupal, but really, I want the raw PHP solution. I can show a single (random) image or a thumbnail with a link to an album. I want to get an array of thumbnail urls/links that I can then manipulate. Any clues out there?

I've looked at these without getting too far:

Is no one replying to this because it's no one knows how to do it? because it's impossible? or is there something else? maybe my question isn't clear.....
