I have a standalone g2 installed /htdocs/gallery2 and a drupal installed on the root of my htdocs folder.

When I try to access gallery from drupal I get-
Unable to initialize embedded Gallery. You need to configure your embedded Gallery.

So I click on "configure your embedded Gallery"

I fill out-

URI of Gallery2:
/gallery2/

Location of Gallery2 (Autodetected value):
/usr/local/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/htdocs/gallery2/

Embed URI (Autodetected value):
/?q=gallery

I then click on "Save Configuration" and I get this-
Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “http://mydomain.com/?q=admin/settings/gallery”. The error was: “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

Both programs work fine alone. i am working this on a VPS linux host from Interland.

I suspect that the autodetection is not working in your case. You may need to enter the values manually and change the checkbox accordingly. Perhaps the test is causing issues that Safari does not like (although I use Safari all the time and have never seen this) -- what does Firefox do?

Firefox does not give me a error - but it spits me out to a blank white screen. And when I go back to the gallery link in my Drupal it still says "Unable to initialize embedded Gallery. You need to configure your embedded Gallery."

Tried it with IE on my PC had the same problem. It tries to go to this page http://mydomain.com/?q=admin/settings/gallery and gets this error-
"Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer "

Have you tried the manual configuration as mentioned above?

Hi kiz_0987, yes i did try that but got the same error. it is as if the page it is going to does not exist - as far as the browser is concerned.
