ALBUM THUMBNAIL BACKGROUND CHANGING ?

Hi All,

Here's an image of what i'm trying to accomplish....

Now I have added some DIV tags in there, and assigned height, background, etc etc. However they do NOT display. Instead this is what comes up: http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/7870/freesnap005sw6.jpg

I went to the point of removing the class attributes from nearly everything above, this yellowish area disappeared, however was not replaced with what I set.

Any help would be appreciated, the DIVs are simply not being formatted, and I can't work out why.
