Anyway to force Gallery2 to re-check if IPTC keyword available in original photos I've uploaded?

My idea is like that:

I have used Gallery2 for a few months already. Before I never put any keyword in IPTC.

But now, I would like to add keywords to all pics in my gallery. As it is not efficient to edit the keyword in gallery2 web interface, I want to download all pics from the g2data folder, edit the keywords in IPTC then put it back to g2data folder.

I have tried this method already, but Gallery2 just won't re-check the file for updated IPTC keyword.

Is it possible to make what I think to happen?

Not at the moment but it should be possible and seems like a good idea.

AFAIK, a sub routine checks the IPTC data when uploading an image and the results stored in the DB. What G2 does is to check the DB and since you have updated the DB, nothing happens. What is needed is a way to run the DB update outside the upload routine.

Yes I think this is quite important.

Because from time to time, there maybe chance that we want to modify IPTC data in batch, and that is not efficient to do that in Gallery2.

So any solution for that purpose?

Has there been any progress on this?

This would be a very nice feature. I could just publish my pics quickly and tag/keyword my pics later :)
