Hello everyone. I must warn you that i am a "Newbie."
So if i make a mistake here please try to be constructive in your critique as i had asked a question the other night and got 'hell' for it instead of an answer.

I can now see what i did wrong, but had no idea at the time that i had barged in on an ongoing talk on a different subject.

I am oly trying to find out if i can link a Gallery pic to
the web?
Can anyone help?

Paul

i can't find another post of yours in this forum, although your post count is 2. a little weird. because we usually don't delete posts.

so what's the exact question? "linking pics to the web" is not precise enough.

do you just want to use gallery pics on other websites?
if so, then right-click on the picture and pick "copy image location", that's the URL to the image.

What i would like to do is (I have a small free adult pic site) be

No one seems to be able to answer this question. It is quite common on the internet to be able to click on a linked-pic in a gallery that takes you to another site. I would be so greatful if someone could help me out.

I didn't know that "Gallery" was anti-adult site. Seeing that it is the largest 'business" on the internet. You know, i've asked one simple question and have recieved hostile 2 hostile answers for it. This is hardly a professional attitude. I'm sure that no one is perfect. I ask reasonable technical advice, and get a hard time from you people. The first guy chews me out because i didn't mkow how to correctly post a question, and now this guy is against adult sites. So if I put pics of a gun club in the Gallery, are your Liberals going to chew me out?
I mean, what is this? Are you people here to help or to get personal with everyone?

I have a good and long track record of helping people (and developing this software).
I helped you too. Now you know that the linkitem module could be what you're looking for.

@"Non-adult" / ...:
Sorry for the slightly inappropriate comment. But here we go:

Gallery is available to everyone.

I just speak for myself.
I have nothing against art / act or adult images that have been made with the intention of creating art.
These are things I can and will actively support.

I'm sure there are also people using Gallery for things that I wouldn't do myself. That's ok. That's their business.
My "job" is it to develop and maintain the software. And everyone, including adult sites, profit from that because it's available to everyone, it's GPL.

But I don't have to dedicate my time to support such things exclusively.
There are enough people in the community, freelancers and web-shops to ensure that everyone gets the support they need.

Yes, in a private e-mail i apologized earlier for my over reacting as well. I am greatful for this software and i know that it is not easy trying to help so many people. I cannot find the "linkitem" module that was mentioned, but what can i do. I guess what is considered basic for some is not so basic for me. I think a good idea would be to develop a "Gallery for Dummies," book. "I'm serious." The instruction that come with Gallery are a level or two above "beginner." That's me!" If there is anyone out there that would be kind enough to let me know where this "linkitem" is, i would be greatful and also try not to bother you guys any more.
Thanks.

http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:Download#Modules has some instructions.
for the specific module, look for "Link items".
