Importing old Gallery1 install from a different host. - Possible?

My old host pretty much blew up and I had a gallery1 setup with over 40,000 pictures. I have changed hosts and im in the process of setting up a gallery 2 install. I know there is an import option for old gallery1 installs that are installed locally on the same server, however is it possible to import a gallery1 install from a different host? If not, how can I make it possible? I really dont want to upload 40gigs worth of pictures to my new host if I can just transfer them the same way adding images through a url works. Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks! |

Transfer your g1 albums directory to the new host, from your old host (direct ftp not via your client) Then you can just import that with the G2 import from G1 option.
